  Today’s outing took us back to course of New Forest Golf Club. It is a course we’ve now visited pretty regularly over the years the society has been running and having last played it in October, it was certainly a LOT hotter today. In fact it was so hot that he was a day more like those of the foreign trips to Spain or Portugal. Twenty brave souls donned the factor 50 and the panama hats and headed down to the Westmeath course and they weren’t disappointed. It was another great days golf full of highlights and talking points. It was of course full of the usual belly laughs we have on our society outings and our entertainer in chief this time around was Keith “Twiggy” Lawlor. He decided it was far too hot to stay walking around the course and so instead took himself and his golf bag for a walk in the lake instead 🥵. Golf wise, we saw the inevitable return to form of Andrew Harte after a couple of poorer (by his high standards) rounds leading into today. However he was pipped at the top by another fabulous performer for our dark horse for the Player of the Year title, Barry Daly with a really impressive round of 39 in that heat.
