  Today, after what seemed like an eternity of rain and closed golf courses we had our first official outing of the 2026 season. It’s been several years since we travelled down to Rathsallagh in Dunlavin County Wicklow and as if by magic and with some obvious good fortune, we were blessed with a lovely spring day to kick start our year. It was great to see the sun shining for a change especially after such a crappy few weeks since Christmas weather wise and it was even better to see the star that is RODNEY DEEGAN shinning brighter then ever. Hot Rod is very popular with all of us and he really has grown from strength to strength in his golf over the last couple of years since joining the society. Today was certainly an exceptional performance from him. We are very lucky to have a spread of such great golfers in the society and it’s never too much of a surprise to see scores over 40 points across all of our outings but today Rodney shot an incredible 47 points. In all we had 5 players shoot over 40 points this time out and it has really set the bar very high for the year. Not satisfied with just grabbing the 47 points, Hot Rod managed to win every single prize he could have in todays outing!!! Seriously well done on an unbelievable start to the Rodney! Now it’s time for a little SNIP SNIP ✂️ of the handicap though 😎 The committee have checked the results and they are confirmed as follows:
