Outing 6 - Lisheen Springs

Today we travelled to Lisheen Springs in Brittas. The course formerly known as South County Dublin didn’t disappoint. The weather was fabulous but the course was incredible. Some of the lads will have been familiar with the course in its previous guise and they all agreed that it was in the best condition they ever played it in. It’s definitely a course we will look to return to! As far as the golf itself, there was 19 members vying to get some player of the year points on the board and yet again we had some great scoring for what was a very testing course. It was the turn of another category 2 player to turn on the style and win it outright with EOIN MANNING posting a fabulous 41! Eoin played some incredible golf and was a desired winner making it his first ever overall winner to date. We also had another category 2 player grab himself an eagle on the par 5 6th hole. Mick’s playing parent Brendan Brady commented that he “had the good fortune to witness the best eagle ever from Mick O’Donovan. The drive was perfect, close to 300yds down the middle, thought long and hard about his choice of club eventually taking a hybrid and hitting it straight at the flag over 2 huge bunkers to 3 ft and knocked it straight in the middle of the hole”. Mick will be first to admit that his golf is very irratic at the best of times but thankfully this was a better and more consistent day for him. The handicap committee will enjoy cutting their handicaps this evening! The committee have checked the results and they are confirmed as follows:
