  Today’s outing had been lined up to be our Captain’s Day but unfortunately due to a family bereavement, Brendan could not attend. Our deepest sympathies with Brendan and the Brady family at this difficult time!

  A decision was taken by the committee that Captain’s Day for 2024 would be shifted to our next outing in County Meath golf club in September.

  Those that played toady were treated to a sun-baked Kilkea Castle in pristine condition. The backdrop of the castle and glorious sunshine made for a pleasant day but it wasn’t without its challenges! Most of us travelled down by coach to the course as this had been pre-booked and finished up with a slap up meal and a chance to cheer on the Ireland women’s 4x400m relay race in the Olympics. Sadly the girls narrowly missed out on a medal coming in fourth but on the flip side we did have some big winners on the course earlier in the evening. Things have shifted a little after some of today’s scores too making things very interesting indeed in the battle for the POTY trophy for 2024. The final results have been tallied and confirmed by the committee and are listed below:

  • Category 1 Runner Up: Robbie Walsh
  • Category 2 Winner: Jack Sheedy
  • Category 2 Runner Up: Davie Fitzpatrick
